FLX+ Player

FLX+ Player Privacy Policy

FLX+ Player is a media player for iPhone, iPad and Android, made by FLX+. This policy covers the FLX+ Player app only; the FLX+ streaming service has its own policy at flx.plus/privacy. Last updated 23 October 2026.

The short version

FLX+ Player does not collect, store or share any personal data. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not need an account. Crash reports are off unless you turn them on.

What stays on your device

  • The files and folders you open, the list of recently played files, where you stopped in each, and your settings are kept only in the app’s storage on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
  • Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

Crash reports (off unless you turn them on)

Crash reports are off by default. You can turn them on in Settings › Privacy › Send crash reports, and off again at any time; the change takes effect straight away.

When they are on and the app crashes or hits an error, it sends an anonymous report to FLX+’s own servers so we can fix the bug. A report contains the technical details of the error (what failed in the app’s code, the app version, the device model and operating system version). It never contains your files, folder names, stream addresses, what you play, your viewing history, your name, account or IP address, and it can’t be linked to you. Reports are kept only as long as we need them to fix bugs and are never sold or shared.

Permissions and why they are used

  • Files and folders, videos and music on the device: only to list and play the media you choose. On Android the app asks for access to videos and music (never to all files); folders you add are granted by you through the system picker.
  • Local network: only for Wi-Fi upload (while that screen is open the app runs a small web server on your local network, protected by a one-time code, so you can send files from your computer) and for finding Chromecast devices. Nothing goes to the internet.
  • Background playback and notification: so audio keeps playing when you leave the app, with playback controls.

Network streams

If you open a network address (for example a stream URL), the app connects directly to that address to play it. That server’s own policies apply. FLX+ is not involved and receives nothing.

Children

FLX+ Player is not directed at children.
